Firstly i get vodafone have stopped email services.

Just interested if Vodafone still operates an smtp server somewhere on there network? (ihug/paradise/clear), just looking to route email notifications from a router and also security alarm via email.

Sendgrid will do it - there are plenty of similar services.

Are you talking smtp over Port 25? These days the convo is when to get rid of SSL and early TLS. The same convo with smtp over Port 25 was probably 2005.

Yes, I know it's common. Why?

Yeah in reference to port 25.

the security device is limited by its configuration in that it wont do TLS (gmail) etc.

and as for the firewall i hope to have notification via email so far looks like it only had smtp/25,

its not mission critical stuff im trying to do,

FYI I have used gmail previously for IP150 modules in regards to e-mail alerts. There are settings in gmail to allow unsecured connections but it does turn itself back on every few months (so that can be annoying if you want something to be left and forget about it)
