Nice to see Telecom have boosted their data caps and finally removed that silly 128k upstream.

Does TC have any plans to match this - e.g. bigger caps and removal of the 128k upstream, if so when?

Shouldn't have to pay extra for FS up to get the full benifit of FS down.

NO worries about upstream speed since on cable it's 2Mbs. But it would be good to have the data limits (not caps since you have exceed them without speed penalty but beware of the cost implications!) reviewed so that we get better value for the plans. 20G and 40Gb just doesn't cut it these days

Yip Cable aint so bad in that respect.

I would certainly pay $15 more for 20 more GB but not $30.

I would hope so. Telecom is offering double the data allowance for the same money on some plans. TelstraClear has to at least match that.

If not, I see little reason for a potential customer in the TCL cabled area to join them. Having said that, I wouldn't switch to Telecom.

We only get 10gb a month which is NEVER enough. Every month we go over 2-5gb but the price jump to the 20gb plan is too big! There needs to be one in between... And while every other ISP is lowering prices and upping the quality of the service, TCL is doing the opposite!

I'm sure TelstraClear is losing customers. They should be doing something about it.

I'm not 100% up on the history of PDQ, happened to come accross the press release for PDQ in 2006, the plans dont appear to have changed much since it was introduced. In a way that is good, it shows stability while most ISP's are forever changing around what they offer, one of the worst recent examples would have to be the Xtra go large fiasco!

TC hit the mark about right with PDQ and and have had no reason to change it.

Now that ADSL2+ is about to become the norm, I'm guessing TC will be working on new plans for that.. I just want to know when!!

Ideally a xnet style system would be best, but there might be other solutions - perhaps allow customers to set themselves a cap to drop to 64k instead of buying more data from that point on?

Yeah, I'd prefer that.

I think they need to make their plans more customizable...

Amen to that. I switch from 40g to 20g thinking that would do. Didn't plan on the kids and school hols and YouTube! and so far has gone over my 20g by 15 blocks! Should have stayed on 40G. TCL need better pricing for bandwidth - so easy to go over
