If the internet light is flickering it is reconnecting the connection with the exchange.  The problem is either the modem or the exchange (or maybe wiring).  It is not XNet, but they can do a remote line check.

Yes i am having that problem to. I noticed that webpages and internet was generally going very slowly and timing out to. I looked at my internet usage speeds in netlimiter and i noticed that it just would cut out when it was loading stuff. And when i turned uTorrent on it would start up very slow and then get to a like 4KBps down or lower and then drop to 0. When this happend i couldnt make any outgoing connections or recieve incoming connections (but the ppp and adsl light was still onn on my router). I restarted my router + my computer several times as well as swapping over all the filters in the house and it didnt help. At one stage my router would pass ppp and then lose ppp or the dsl light and keep failing just as it connected. The router continued to fail to establish a substained connection to xnet. I ran a tracert utility that allows you to tracrt adresses on a time delay and see stuff like each hops ping and packet loss at each node. I noticed that when i started the tracert there was no packet loss. But after a few seconds the packet loss started happending.

So I presumed that the packet loss, slow web pages, disconnecting with utorrent, router disconects, router not connecting properly would most likely not be caused by my router which has not done this before. So I spoke to xnets help desk yesterday or the day before (can't remember which) and they said they think its to do with telecomes equipment in the exchange. They said they loged a report and it will hopefully be better by 9pm that day. It is slightly better (router has held the connection to the exchange) but the internet connection is unacceptable (packet loss, timeouts, slow web pages, utorrent failed connections). I do not know if this is the same problem your having. I will ring xnet up tomorrow and ask them what the hell theyre doing! Sigh.... Cry Cry

Anyways is this the same problem your having, and what has xnet done/told you? Allso any ideas on what it is besides either a fail router, failing xnet or telecom? Any assistance would be apreciated. cheers guys Laughing
