Hi,

I was just wondering if somone can help me.  Randomly yesterday, my phone stopped receiving calls and texts, I can call and text outbound as normall, however when you call me it goes straight to my voicemail, and when you text, the text never shows?
I have turned the phone off, taken the battery out etc, and also put another sim card in my phone which works fine, when I put my sim in another phone I still cant recieve calls or texts.  I rung 777 three seperate times to no avail - apparantly somone has logged a service call and will get back to me??? Within 24 hours!

I spend a rediculously large amount on my phone and have been with vodafone for many many years and I use this as a business number although its a private phone, I cant wait that long to get my phone back in action!

Im gutted about being fobbed around because I love vodafone, they have always been great! but i dont really know what to do!!

can anyone help? is there some secret thing I could be doing that I dont know about? im not really good at this sort of technical stuff!!

thanks

Weird, SIM cards do break down, have you asked at the shop if they can replace your SIM card and assign your number to it? Cost $20.00 odd to get a new SIM.

Go to a proper Vodafone store (not a First Mobile) and tell them the card is faulty, and ask for it to be replaced.  Last time I did this the replacement was free.

so i went to vodafone today, they said that there is no point in giving me a replacement sim with the same number because the problem would still exist, they logged ANOTHER service call, which will take 3-4 working days to respond too.

I said can you cancell my contract and give me another number and they said yes you can it will cost $170 for a deactivation fee though. I said why should I pay for it when my phine doesnt even work in the first place...they said tough.

Im considering paying and them and going to telecom....that is how over it I am.......

I'm no expert with SIM cards but definitely sounds like a faulty SIM card, ring 777 and tell them to hurry up.  Make enough noise and help desk always seem to move faster.

Hi there,

it does sound to me like the SIM card is stuffed... have you tried a different SIM (or your SIM in a different handset)? That will help diagnose the problem. If it's the SIM, take it to one of our company-owned stores and they should swap it for free. Make sure you back up your data first!

If it continues however, send me a PM with your details and I'll chase it up for you.

Cheers

Paul
