I just got my VFX invoice and I see a bunch of calls to Denmark and Sweden plus national calls - placed from another phone number (not mine).

It says "Subtotal for line number 04 831 11xx" which is obviously not mine. In total about 50% of my invoice this month is actually someone else's.

Also a big breach of privacy because now I know all the numbers this other person called during the last month - 0800, mobile, national, local and international.

Off to call WorldxChange soon...

I bet I know what the issue is..

You had a VFX number VFX allocated you before you actually ported your TCL number across didn't you? I had the same thing happened to me and it turns out when the number port happend my initial VFX number was then put on hold for future reuse but didn't appear to be removed from my billing record. When it was then reallocated ~6 months later I got charged for the calls the person with the number made.

Obviously their is either human error when the port occurs or a bug in their system.

Yes, sbiddle is probably right. This is the temporary number I had when I ported my TCL line to VFX. Just off the phone with customer services and they will sort it out.

Month after my number was ported I could still dial my VFX number.  Have not tried lately as I can not remember it, but at the time it was not released to "the pool".  Don't know if releasing your number was a mistake, or perhaps mine is not released because it was in use for a long time before porting and thus not a temp number.

Same thing happened to me on my final invoice (Oct).   Had to ring and get them to credit the charges off.   Only noticed because there were a heap of calls to Australia.

It turned out to be calls from the temp port number that had remained allocated to my account, even though I only used it for a week while the port happened back in April.

I had the same thing happen about a year ago, but it was an 09 number (I am in Wellington) and not a number I has been allocated in the past.

Happened for about 3 months and took several calls to sort.

Me too.  We had a temp number, then ported our number to WxC.  The combination of VFX over Telstra cable didn't pass the WAF.  So we ported back to Telecom and kept WxC for tolls.  A few months later we started getting billed for some VFX tolls when WxC reallocated our temp number
