Hi all,

My wife an avid shorty fan is trying to get onto the ferndale homicide squads website which if you were not aware is away of continuing the drama while the show is taking a break.

unfortunatley it never seems to load.

first up in IE address bar i simply type as i would for any other site the addess www.ferndalehomicide.co.nz this then takes me to google with it in the search box and is the first in the listing.  i dont understand why this happens.  then i click on the listing at the top and i get Internet explorer cannot display this webpage.... blah blah blah, ya know what i mean.

any ideas why?

i believe many others can view it, even those on TC.  as my wife says as per TM forum.

Jason

The website for me is reachable, however I'm on an Xtra connection.

I can't test using the TelstraClear DNS since they disallowed recursive queries however I assume it's a botched DNS configuration made by their DNS hosting company (Domainz)

josh@kryten:~$ host -t soa ferndalehomicide.co.nz alien.xtra.co.nz
Using domain server:
Name: alien.xtra.co.nz
Address: 202.27.184.3#53
Aliases:

ferndalehomicide.co.nz has SOA record hermes. hostmaster. 7 900 600 86400 3600

(Suggested by the CheckDNS.net report as well)

Bottom line: You have several options, the easiest being to use a Web-based proxy line ninjaproxy.com

If you want a more permanent resolution and protection from issues similar to this in the future, you may consider having your router use DHCP to assign alternative nameservers (e.g. primary TelstraClear, secondary Xtra, backup OpenDNS).

Works fine for me on TC PDQ.  Perhaps try clearing the dns cache on your wifes machine.

Start > CMD > ipconfig /flushdns
