Earlier in the day a telstra rep came to my house door and said he has broadband cheaper than telecom and offers more gigabytes. i declined but i went to telstra's website and technically they do have cheaper broadband than telecom but its only 128kbps upload with max download or 256kbps download with 128kbps upload.

going around saying you have cheaper broadband than telecom is true, but telstra are tricking people because their plans are slower download speeds. no telecom plan has limited download speed, only upload on some plans.

and telstra, telecom have $49.95 max download and upload with a 10gb cap and you have the same speed and cap but you charge $55.95 which is $6 more. so unless you lower your price, your not cheaper than telecom so please don't come to my door or onto my property without my permission. you know your sales reps are breaking the law by coming onto someone's property without their permission right? maybe next time i will complain to the police. we already have a spam legislation that stops people emailing things to buy to people that don't want it, maybe we need to have a $100,000 fine for any sales rep that is on someone's property without the owners permission selling something. i wish we had a spam act for telemarketers too.

Sorry, but I have to ask, are you studying law? Have any intention in doing so? or just like to ramble on?

It took me three attempts to read what you have said here, if you want people to listen to your rants, then please try a little formatting.

If you are that annoyed with them, then put a sign on your door saying no hawkers.

All the police will tell you to do is to grow up, or maybe ask you to fill out a tresspass form. I am sure it is not against the law for someone to come onto your property, ask to talk to you, and then have a chat.
It would he a different story if they came onto your property to damage your property, or if you had a sign explicitly stating they could not enter.

As mentioned by rscole, your posts are very hard to understand when you don't use full sentences or proper grammar, plus you jump from one idea to another.

Can I suggest you write down your thoughts, type them up with proper formatting and then post? You will find people will be more willing to reply to your concerns when they can understand what you are posting. You will also find their responses will be more helpful.

This is a commonly held misconception. Where it applies to people walking onto property (and doing nothing else) the "Trespass Act 1980" says absolutly nothing except that it's a violation of the act if you've:

a) told them to leave, or
b) told them them they're not allowed to come onto your property

I quite like this particular piece of legislation because the wording is pretty clear cut for sections 3 and 4 (the ones relating to a) and b) respectively above).

if you look at the spam legislation it says it's an offence to send commercial unsolicited email. you cannot email someone and say please buy this viagra for $39.99 because it will be spam. just think if it wasn't, a person could send you 10,000 spam emails that clog up your inbox and would you be happy with that?

if a person if allowed to walk onto your property to sell something, would you be happy with different people knocking on your door every minute for one year? that's why anyone who wants to come onto your property should have to ask permission otherwise the law can easily be abused and used to harass people.

there is also a religion(think it's indian) where they clean outside the door with a hose and no one is allowed to walk onto it until a prayer is said. what if a sales rep walked onto someone's property without their permission and walked outside the door? that person would have just damaged the religious thing the owner was doing and the owner has to waste their water and time cleaning outside the door again.

I guess it makes sense in the concept, but reality is the costs for companies to send people around are too high when compared with email spam, so it's very unlikely you'd see "physical spam". You already get junk mail in the mailbox and that's the closes to spam you will get.

I wouldn't ever classify someone walking to my door as spam, not even by a long stretch of imagination that seems to be the case here.

128K/256K is not "broadband" afaik. Pretty sure it needs to be at least 512Kbps receive to qualify, otherwise they could've called ISDN back in the early 90s "broadband".

As for the rest of the argument. You might want to invest in a "Beware of the dog" sign or a locking gate or somesuch.
