I am having some odd issues with a couple of things:
- Using the rubygems for the Heroku rails deployment platform, I am not able to authenticate with their servers. On a 'standard' broadband connection it is sweet, but I get 'authentication failed' when using Mobile broadband. Contacted the developers and they said it was standard HTTP Auth stuff - anyone have any insights why this would be the case?
- Also, Google Talk often drops and has to reconnect - and Google Video Chat and Mic chat both make the actual Broadband connection completely drop (i.e. I have to reconnect the actual modem to the network). Do you think this is because of inherent high pings, or is Vodafone doing some sort of dirty packet sniffing ala use-your-mobile-to-voice-chat-you-cheap-bastard?
Thanks!
