Hi

I have a D-Link  502T Router Modem..

Has anyone Used DynDSN to set up their home computer so you can browse to it..

I would really prrectiate knowing how to do this..


I have WAMP set up for my web pages..

Not sure if that particular modem supports it, but most support some form of dynamic dns provider, whereas your modem sends a heartbeat back to the service with your current IP, and allows you to access your home network with an easy to remember domain name.

If your modem doesn't support this feature, you can easily install a program which will do this for you on one of your desktops at home.

Having said this, I'm a much bigger fan of a static IP.  I pay a small monthly fee for mine, no mucking about, plus I can then point the A record of one of the subdomains (for example, nate.geekzone.co.nz) off our main domain to my home IP address - easy.
