Hi Folks,
I'm new here to Geekzone and NZ for that matter as I've just moved here from Ireland.
I just bought a new modem/VOIP router (Hitachi AH4051) in order to set up my Fusion account.
I realise that Xnet only provide support for Linksys devices but I would like to configure my modem to work with Xnet's VOIP service.
Considering they use a common protocol would it not be possble to configure my device to operate on Xnet's network?
I really would like to try and avoid buying a seperate VOIP adapter as I don't need the extra expense right now.
I also do not want to use a softphone alternative just Xnet's service.
I find it unusual to see that Xnet have an exclusive tie-in with Linksys as this seems to fly in the face of healthy competition. Considering they have been offering the VOIP sevice for a number of years I would expect support for a wide range of devices to be implemented.
Thanks for taking the time to read this folks, I will appreciate any and all help I can get with the matter.
Cheers, I look forward to hearing from you
