My wife has a s23 ultra and her biggest complaint is battery life.

One nz seems to be going out of oppo devices. We live in Tauranga and can’t get our hands on a oppo find x9  pro. The stores here have our details but can’t order it.

1: Are One nz going out of oppo

2: if not then why is there no stock of one of their main flagship phones, is there something going on at oppo nz as they didn’t launch the oppo x9 ultra here even though its a global release

3: if we want good battery life and a flagship ish phone tough luck right? The Samsung s26 ultra won’t be a significant jump in battery size.

  1. Only OneNZ can answer that
  2. Only OneNZ / Oppo can answer that
  3. Why limit yourself to what your carrier sells? PBTech etc all stock large ranges of phones.

My wife's S22 and my S25, both standard models, both have good battery life. We charge them to 80%, they last the day with standard use like on the train to work, some calls, etc, sometimes they need a bump if used a lot more.

I suggest looking at the cause of the poor battery life. Are there a lot of apps? A lot of notifications? A particular app being a battery hog? I configure most of my apps so they can't use battery in the background - including email - but I leave Whatsapp with background rights. I noticed when I got the phone and added apps one by one that battery life got worse the more apps are installed, even with background battery disabled. It could also be heavily used and simply using the battery. Worth investigation anyway as the S23 Ultra should be ok.

Do you not work at Oppo, One NZ and have a clear insight into the supply chain?

Was asking if anyone had any idea/insight into the topic.

Thanks for jumping in though

To be frank. Muppet isn't wrong and that is the wrong tone to have to someone who is actually providing the correct answers and One NZ is not the only retailer for devices.

https://one.nz/oppo/ looking at the website there are honestly more Oppo phones than I've ever seen. I can even see the phone you want in stock and it would be shipped from Wiri and likely delivered next day...

2degrees range the handset too... So you could just buy it outright and pop a sim in with no obligation

Thankyou, that’s the most insightful comment here.

understand other retailers have the phone but this was a question about one nz.

Was hoping to get help with the question, will delete the thread and see if I can get the answers somewhere else.

PB Tech have been known for selling phones which are not compatible with all networks VoLTE

You cant just delete a thread because you don't like the answer.

End of the day, only Oppo and OneNZ can answer your questions. I assume you're rather OneNZ biased due to contracts etc or else you probably could get the device you want elsewhere if youve been told its not available with One.

Try turning off 5G as it can use more battery than 4G-only.

As someone else mentioned above (Maxine),

the phone appears to be on OneNZ website as available (low stock), and comes with free shipping etc.

whats stopping you from buying online using your existing onenz credentials and or phone dollars?

Did said retail store not offer you to buy it and then come back to collect it from them or point you to website?

I believe but maybe wrong that turning off the phone saves even more battery.

Indeed! I can get weeks of (non-) use out of my phone when I keep it turned off. It's also great for my mental health and I somehow seem to get so much more work done. And it didn't cost a cent! Is this "The one hack that phone companies wish you didn't know"?

I had the same battery issue with s23 ultra . i used to get down to 40% bat around mid day 12-1pm

so I had to upgrade , i pressed the button at launch and got s26 ultra.  have been pleasently surprised as i was also skeptical with the given battery mah number

i can say that they have done a good job of optimization , and with decent use i can be left with same 40% around night 9-10 pm , if i push the phone little it will get down to 20% but it will still hold up strong as heck.
