Wonder if anyone can help me here..

I'm on Vodafone prepay, and just switched to a Vodafone enabled Nokia 3G 2730.

I can browse the internet fine in the native browser, but, i've downloaded Opera Mini, and it will not install. It keeps returning 'no internet connection detected' errors.

I understand it may be to do with the access points?

Under settings/connectivity/Packet Data, the active access point is www.vodafone.net.nz

But under settings/configuration/ the 'Preferred Access Point' is VF NZ WAP.

Not sure if this is the nub of the issue.

I tried adding a custom, 'Personal Config Setting', using the same profile name and AP for VFNZ Internet (www.vodafone.net.nz). It didn't work, but then I didn't add a username/password either.

has anyone had any experience of, or resolved, this issue?

Thanks
Nick

Thanks John,

After adding VFNZ Internet as a 'user conf. setting', I then made it the preferred access point, but still could not install Opera.

This does not rule out an error in my setting up of the user config profile. Here are my settings;

Packet data access point: www.vodafone.net.nz
Network Type: IPv4
Authentication Type: Normal
Username: [blank]
Password: [blank]

Data Bearer: 'packet data' (as opposed to GSM)

I realise the blank fields for username/password are glaringly obvious. Is there somewhere I should be able to find my username/password? Is the same as my login to myvodafone on the vodafone.net.nz website? Or should it be left blank?

Thanks again,
Nick
