Hey guys, i am currently on the 20gb cable broadband plan and have about a week till i get billed and the usage resets. If i upgrade to the 40gb plan today, will it just take into account how long i have spent on each plan and work it out from there on a day to day basis? If i switch to the 40gb plan today, will i get charge for 23 days on the 20gb plan, and 7 days on the 40gb?

Cheers

Yes, it will work out how many days were used for each plan and the usage etc
It's better to let it change at the end of the cycle however, as mid-cycle changes can cause the data transfer to drop off.

Drop off?

When your plan is changed, you get the full amount of data (ie 40GB) to use from the following day until your next billing cycle.

For example, lets say your billing cycle is the 2nd of each month. You start off on the 20GB plan but on the 18th you change it to 40GB.

20GB - $79.95/31 days = $2.58/day
40GB - $109.95/31 days = $3.55/day

2nd-18th = 17 days * $2.58 = $43.86
19th-2nd = 14 days * $3.55 = $60.35

Combined total = $104.21 for 60GB =)
