The talk for 2 hours and pay for 3 mins promo has been extended again for prepay customers ONLY.....untill the end of JUNE 06. i am so pissed off with this, i called up Vodafone and told them i wanted to cancel my contract because why shud prepay ppl only pay $1.50 to talk for 2 hours and i pay $40 a month for 3 hours and 20 minutes? They went away and came back and said becuz ive been on contract over 3 years, if i stayed with them, they would give me three months free motormouth service..... so i took the offer and stayed with them!!

im still really pissed off that prepay ppl get such great deals, im glad i didnt lock myself into a you choose plan.... this is the first time vodafone have really pissed me off, promos like this should be for everyone, or at least only for contract customers seeings we pay the most!

If your on vodafone contract, voice your opinion by either calling them and telling them how you feel about this or sending them feedback via their website.

Good on you for getting calling them (and getting three months free!). I will be calling them when I get back in NZ to see why this is but in the meantime I'll just email them and get a form response.

Why they exclude personal on account customers is beyond me. Perhaps they didn't like the idea of us using our included minutes to make big phone calls. But in any case I'd expect on account customers to contribute more to Vodas coffers per month than prepaid users.

I heard they had double topups again recently for selected prepay customers, can anybody confirm this?

Yet again those who spend the most (contract customers) get shafted.. I've got to ring them again today re my GPRS issues so I'll have to mention this to them as well. I've only been waiting for an answer for around 3 weeks now..:-)

It's just rediculous how they offer customers on a cheaper prepay plan, more than they offer customers who actually show commitment and loyalty that have a contract with the company.

Being able to talk for 2 hours and only pay for 3 minutes is a huge promo, i cant beleive they only give it to prepay users.

I worked out that a prepay customers could get over 3100 national voda to voda or voda to landline minutes a month for $40.

Im on contract and i pay $40 for 200 voda to voda minutes (motormouth)

Surely other people are feeling ripped off aswell...

Really??? I've been checking their website almost every week. I'm on prepay and sticking with it.... Haha, topped up about $480 worth last year, works out to be only $40 per month, but I get 160mins worth every month to mobiles (almost all my friends are on Voda), landlines, AND australia.... Even more at night, LOL

I actually got on motormouth account when they first came out, but hey, when I found out that you have to pay $$ even when I'm overseas for sometime (like now), and I can't call aus without paying extra, hey, pre-pay's cool!

It hasn't been mentioned on their website like the big promo before Xmas 2004. They sent out SMS's in mid December inviting selected customers to get a double topup and it was valid for 3 days. I heard they did something similair again at the end of Jan but hadn't run into anybody who had received it to confirm it.

The whole split between prepay and on plan is stupid, which is why the bundle deals that are the norm in Australia are so great.

I've told them to cut my account to.

I finally got my overbilling answer back and it wasn't the answer I was looking for. I won't go too offtopic but couplied with a few other reasons and this promotion only being offered on prepaid - I'm better off there.

LOL.... When they mean selected customers, I betcha it means excluding users like me who topped up lots and then cruised by with cheap talk rates for the rest of the year...

That would be a very sensible idea, were it not for the fact that switching to PrePay would require you to have your phone number changed. If you're willing to suffer the hassle of telling your friends and collegues your new number, then you might as well switch to Telecom and really show Vodafone that you're not happy!

Yes i would love to go to Telecom, but everyone i know is on Vodafone and all make use of the free text weekends.

I submitted this forum to Vodafone so hopefully they read it and do something about it.... not likely though.

I did as well because they tried to pull the "If it affects one customer it must effect all argument".

Their response was there were a lot of people complaining about the price of the service.
Will defintely consider going over to Telecom it when its time to replace my P910 despite my reservations about them.

Funny that there was no thread like this in the Telecom forum even though their offer was only ever open to Prepay - they never even bothered giving it to on account.

Yes it is quite strange too.
I would have expected more of a backlash.

I got a response back from Vodafone in regard to the let yourself go promotion and basically it was just a PR response which looked word for word like the stuff on the old let yourself go page.

Maybe its because Telecom always just had it on prepaid, Vodafone had it for everyone then only extended it for prepay.

Put it this way, if i was to make a call for 2 hours on account offpeak, it would cost me $60. If i was to make a call on prepay for 2 hours offpeak, it would cost me $1.50.

It doesnt make sence...
