Any one know what it costs to update to facebook / twitter on the TC GSM network, either by text or mobile application?

Oh and what does it cost to check / send email, clear or hotmail and any other standard internet access?

The SMSrote will cost the standard SMS rates. All Twitter-enabled operators (Vodafone, Telecom) charge for this service. And no, it does not come out of any bundles you have.

As forupdating over data, it will most certainly use your mobile data allowance, and if you don't have any then it will cost you mobile data casual rates.

thanks mate, so to be clear, despite having 500 texts on my plan, it is going to cost me 20 cents for each text update, damn, would have thought as it is a standard text, it would come out of my bundle.

and for updating over WAP or whatever, any idea how many KB or MB and update to facebook would be? then i can back calculate it?

No idea of size sorry. Check their mobile data usage meter, it's the best option.

Mobile Data 200 = $20 for 200MB + 50 cents a MB for any overage

i am aware of that and what the charges are, what i was getting at is, has anyone updated to facebook using m.facebook.com on tc's gsm network and know either roughly how much it cost them so i can know how much to expect or how much data is transferred so i can do the math again to know what to expect.

I have an iPhone 3GS and the 200MB plan from TelstraClear. I spend about 1-2 hours a day Monday to Friday on my bus commute checking e-mail, using facebook (the app rather than the mobile site) and general web browsing to sites like NZHerald, Stuff, Digg, Cracked etc. I have only once gone over my 200MB cap. Hope that helps.
