Well I have now experienced the frustration of dealing with the Telstra Clear call centre. I rang up to see about changing plans now that the usage limits have been doubled. I was on the lightspeed 20G plan and had my limit put up to 40G. I have never used up my 20G limit so I decided to drop back to that and save some $.

First off, I could hardly hear what the person was saying. She was happy to change my plan for me, but when I asked about what I would be charged, it was implied I would be charged for a full month of my last plan and for a full month in advance of my new plan. Also, I couldnt arange to have it roll onto the new plan at the end of the billing cycle.

She couldnt actually give me a straight answer or tell me what I would be charged and when. When I asked to be transfered to somene whe could better explain, she just repeated what I had already been told.

So- Whats the deal with changing plans and how can I do it without getting double charged?

That is incorrect, I was told (same scenario as you) that I am charged for the part of the month... I have not had my bill for OCT yet so cant confirm.
