I have just found my old Alcatel OT Easy cellphone that looks exactly like this:

Would this phone still work on Vodafone's network? And it only seems to store sms messages on the sim card because I think it has no internal memory so does anyone know how many sms messages can be stored on a first generation vodafone sim? 5? 10? 20? And how would I know when the sms inbox is full?

Yeah it will work no problems, the number of SMS messages would be around the 20 mark for these phones.

I used to have one of these - I'm pretty sure it came up with a message once the memory was full and messages are queued at vodafone?

oh so the sms message won't bounce if the inbox is full like emails do?

I think it keeps retrying from the vodafone servers until your phone accepts it, but it will only keep retrying for so long. Perhaps some one from vodafone can confirm this for you?
