G,DAY EVERYONE

ive bought a sharp gx30 and it orignally came with 8mb sd card so i bought a 1GB sd card from the net and now its not working with the phone

this is what happens:
i put in the sd card and the phone will accept it and show the full red sd card icon on top of the gx30 screen but when i go to access the memory card it wont let me and the icon on top of the screen is now shown in half (which it presumes is faulty)

phone is sharp gx30
sd card is DSE sd secure digital 1GB

ive tried the sd card on my computer and you can load any files to it,so the card is working
so is thier any files or anything which could be downloaded in to the sd card to make it readable by the phone

Have you formatted it?

Menu -> Settings -> Memory Card -> Format

The defualt code should be 0000

Hope this helps

What speed is the memory card? Despite SD being a standard there can sometimes be issues with different brands of cards. I got a new Panasonic digital camera last year and had to try 3 brands of 1Gb SD cards before I could get one to work - both "cheap" brands would fail but a Sandisk works fine.

hey thanks,all i needed to do was format ,thanks again and if anyone now has any idea how to convert mpegs(movie clips) and all the other files to be played by the gx30 let me know,cheer
