FYI - Vodafone seems to be down in Northland, my phone dropped off yesterday avo.

Two calls today to different CSR's confirmed that they are experiencing problems in Northland and also in Taranaki. They apologised and are unable to give a time for resolution.

Used a friends 2 degrees mobile here in Whangarei to call vodafone and it was fine roaming on voda.

Narrow down Northland as it's a big area?

2Degrees uses the Vodafone network up that so the network must be up!

The Fibre cut today impacted part of Otago

Checking known issues we have a single 2G site in Northland down location = Maunu

This is a single cell issue the person on 2Degrees might have a 3G handset and you may have 2G only handset

Sorry John,

No service (phone says emergency calls only). Tried the SIM in 3 different phones.

Happened in both central Whangarei yesterday and this afternoon.

And still the same at home in Maunu.

However the CSR's said the issue is under repair at the moment, can't be happening to everyone or it'd be on the news by now ! :-)

Regards
Mac

John,

Phones I'm using are a Vodafone 715 and also a HTC magic, both 3g. :-| ?

Maybe it's a SIM issue? CSR's seem certian it's a network issue.

No problems for any us, all day today, at work.
Just used my phone to speak to someone else, both of us on Vodafone, and they are in Maunu.

30 minutes with a 3rd CSR after Johns comments.

He confirmed a 2g only issue, and i should not be affected by it on my 3g phones.

They are sending a voucher for a SIM replacement.

Fingers crossed.

CSR 1 & 2 = :-(

CSR 3 = :-)

Aah, thats good to know.
I spent some time on the phone trying to convince a CSR there was a problem but as I was apparently the 'only complaint received' she figured it must've just been me, my phone or my sim  :D

Good to see it was resolved relatively quickly.

Parts of Maunu will have over lapping coverage from another cell and as advised it's 2G / GSM only offline 3G is not impacted
