Can anyone tell me if it is possible to network a PC to a laptop running a connection using the Vod Connect card?

Hmmm. Wait a minute. Are you trying to share the 3G connection from your laptop to your desktop?

If yes, then you should be able to use ICS on your laptop to share the 3G DUN to an ethernet adapter and connect your desktop there. This requires some tweaking with network settings though and will most likely require static private IP addresses configured on both your laptop and desktop's ethernet adapters.

Hmmm i got the impression that the OP was trying to use the VMC card to connect to a network in place of a wifi card or such.

There are some model of Vodafone VMC has wifi option (at least from what the manual said so, but the Vodafon Mobile Connect software version 7 does not have this option anymore.

Anyhow, like MF said, if you ICS this connection, you can share your VMC connection, advice is use "direct.vodafone.net.nz" as your APN for full speed.

Oh also, MF showed us the wifi router with EVDO last year, do you have the review or the link to that?

Thanks everyone. As MF said, sorry I wasn't clearer, I am trying to share the 3G connection on my laptop with my desktop. While they complete our home, we are in a rented cottage without a phone line so no broadband or even dialup. Most of my programs for work are on my desktop so preferable to work on it when I am home. I will try to ICS the connection as you suggested.
