I have just come accross the above phone (Motorolla 3300 Intenational brick), it also came with an orginal Bell South information pack and sim card (all in perfect condition).

Apparently its the only model of brick phone that is still able to be used on a moden network, as it uses a sim card (gsm), unlike other brick phones that ran on analog network that can now not be used. Its so cool to hear this old baby ring !!!. when I put a Vodafone sim card in, the network still comes up as Bell South.

Any idea on the collectablity of this phone ??, and also the orginal Bell South information pack and Sim card ??.

In our test kit we have every single handset still that was approved for use on the GSM network from Bell South days

Whats a test kit John ??, do Vodafone test older phones, to see if they still work when you make changes to the network ??.

Also I have tried to get the SIM card activated via Vodafone customer service, but was informed its to old, but I read on another forum that theses can be activated but its quite differcult to do ?.

Sorry John you seem to be the man in the know :-), do you also know if the 3300 Intenational was the only brick phone Bell South/ Vodafone sold ?? (candy bar style phones were coming in at the time)

I know a guy who has both a Motorola 3300 and a Motorola 1000 International - this isactually a transportable.

There are a lot of these phones on eBay in Europe, there is a strong demand for these old phones so they are priced accordingly. Probably one of the few phones to actually hold any value!

I think its because its the only brick phone that can still today be used on a modern network (GSM) vrs the other brick phones that were anolog. Is this correct ??.

Also was it the first phone to be able to receive tex without the assistance of an operator ??.

Im also wodering if it maybe a bit more rare than the ones on ebay, as it was registered in New Zealand (Less sold here, more moden candy bar style phones just released), and comes with the Bellsouth pack ??
