As some of you know, we are setting up an online store offering the latest mobile handsets from around the world. I am just wondering what Network Telstra CLear run on.

I know they are GSM but what is the correct Frequency?

They are a mvno using Vodafone currently though I think this deal expires in around a year and they have in the past switched from using Vodafone (2005-2007) to Telecom (2007-2009) to Vodafone (current).

900/2100 UMTS is required for 3G on Vodafone
850/2100 UMTS is required for 3G on Telecom XT

Orcon and Slingshot/Callplus are also mvno's using Vodafone I think.

They used Vodafone before 2005 as well.

Slingshot/Callplus = Telecom XT

I think soon you will get tangled in the world of acronyms.

GSM = 2G
WCDMA/UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA = 3G

Vodafone runs both GSM and a WCDMA networks. Telecom runs only a WCDMA network.

Just because a network uses SIM cards for identification it doesn't mean it's GSM.

I know some people use these in both ways, but thinking of being a retailer it's important at least one person in the transaction - YOU - understands the differences.
