There are so many people watching and subscribing to this thread. I'm sure there are more people out there who know nothing about GeekZone, so thought I'd create a Facebook group.

Moving to the EPG and selecting programs was that slow this afternoon that it was hardly worth using. After finally selecting programs to record it took minutes to go 'back' to a selected TV channel. This was noticed at approximately 4.30pm. Perhaps this was a fault.? I wonder if anyone else had this problem.? Is this ever going to be fixed.?

I looks as though I may have to join Facebook, something which I have avoided until now. LOL.

Hi Tim

I appreciate that you are in an awkward position, but I think you would be a lot more useful here if we got some actual information from you instead of TCL being a complaint black hole.

For instance, the last time I spoke to T-Box support, I was told there was a software update planned for early July to fix Planner/EPG issues and another update mid-July to fix the sluggish UI issues.

Neither of these updates have happened.  Why not?

How about a bit more transparency?

An update on my earlier posts - we had continued issues (slow response, failed recordings, no video/audio, ...) and TelstraClear agreed that the issues meant we could end the contract without any early termination fee (I assume this will depend on previously having unit replaced, number of issues, etc).

We have hence made the switch to MySky+ and the biggest improvements are fast responses to commands, no reboots, no freezing, and the wife being much happier. Also good being able to go to latest recordings quickly, categories in EPG, record when out via iPhone, 1TB of space, etc.

The T-Box does have some advantages. Noticeably it has a prettier interface. Additionally, during the Christchurch snow storm, the T-Box was fine recording Tour de France overnight while MySky had signal loss half way through which is likely expected considering we had ~30cm of snow in the morning.

They told me they aim to have all the issues resolved before the rugby world cup so if you are having issues it may improve soon.

Is that the one being held in NZ.? Or the next one, wherever.?

Something funny last night - trying to watch a recorded program and the box said I wasn't subscribed with the padlock. A reboot (and the typical long wait while it updated) fixed it. I rebooted last week too to 'improve performance'.

Could some of you please make sure you check that you have new PM (Private Mail) by checking if there's a yellow envelope on the top menu next to your name?

I won't go into details but whoever receives a PM should reply ASAP. It's a unique opportunity.

But wait, there's more!

Hi, my apologise, but may I have a question. I would like to buy an AV Transmitter for a kitchen tv. Can I get a TBox RCA signal if the TBox is using the HDMI cable already? Thanks

Hi 01EG

The answer is yes.  The TBox does produce output on both the HDMI and RCA ports simultaneously.  I checked.
