@ganktrain Thanks for that. You'd think after a year of upgrades there wouldn't be any congested nodes any more. Hopefully the can resolve it before tomorrow evening.

I mean that's what I was told, who knows haha.

I'll post his response tomorrow

Just called VF (and was answered in under 5mins surprisingly)

Got given the usual spiel about there being an outage in wellington tonight which was resolved at 7pm tonight and was run through 2 power recycles of the modem even though I clearly stated that I had already done so a couple of times. She then told me that all the speed related issues she had received tonight were resolved by reboots and had to log an incident through to their T2 team to investigate further. Expected resolution is 24 - 48 hours and I might get a call or text to say when its been sorted. I will be following up on this one tomorrow to see where its at.

Now back to this known issue in wellington. Initially she could not give me details around what this fault was and tried to avoid answering the query. She then said she did not know what root cause was but it has been resolved to eventually saying the issue was something to do with customer profiles getting corrupted and the fix was to remove all corrupted profiles or something along the lines of that.

Pretty standard overall with the modem reboots and being passed on to T2 support as they cannot do much other than that. She could not even tell me whether I was one of the affected ones with the profile issue tonight. So it will be interesting to see if anyone else gets given the same answers as me! For now, speeds are still under 6mbps so no streaming for me tonight.

W93 upgrades' (done a few months ago) are starting to get worn.

UCMirror ISO download: around ~350 KB/s.

EDIT: Seems to be getting slower.

If there was an outage across Wellington wouldn't it have effected everyone?  It appears to only effect those that haven;t had their node upgraded.  Here's my connection tonight.

I have to share this and record for posterity - i did not believe it could get this bad.

they gave me 20 or 25% off when i complained about service over the last 9 months.  Maybe I should be asking for 90% off

I have already had my node (W40) upgraded some time ago and my speeds have been relatively ok with the occasional slow evenings here and there but this week so far has been terribad.

Or maybe you could get off of Netflix so that we could actually finish our speed tests!

BigMal: Miramar.  WKM node.

That makes the Vodafone support statement that the issue is caused by an outage in Miramar seem a little off.
