Can't compete speedtests in Newlands too. Everything is unusable.

I can't even load speedtest here. It's currently sitting on "Loading 100%" and has been doing so for the last 10 min.

I'm also in Miramar, but not sure what node.

iceagecoming:

Doesn't even finish. Lyall Bay here.

Watching that tiny little image load reminded me of the dialup days. It took about 30 seconds, slowly loading from the top down.

I still can't get a speed test to finish either. I think it's a fair statement to call Vodafone cable a complete write-off tonight.

Although OOKLA (Wellington server) is no longer working, nPerf (Auckland server) still works:

100/10 cable, node WKH:

9am: the horizontal dotted line is at 102 Mbps

9pm: the horizontal dotted line is at 4 Mbps:

It took 117 seconds to load this Geekzone page. Dammit, Vodafone, get your stuff sorted. I need to be able to come home from work/university and be able to complete my uni projects then unwind and enjoy myself.

The amount of stress I've had with Vodafone is ridiculous. I can't even imagine needing to do assignments right now or - god forbid - working from home with a connection like this.

We have an agreement with Vodafone to not need to pay our monthly bill until this is sorted, but even with a deal like that it feels like I'm losing out by using this connection because of all of the problems. Vodafone has wasted far more of my time than they have my money. And I'd rather have the time...

Strathmore has been relatively good tonight. Dropped to around 35Mbps earlier but that didn't affect Netflix. Latest result (from my phone on Wifi) is nearly full speed.

(don't know how to post images on mobile...)

Still unable to get to speedtest, or even Vodafone's own website. The only ones that seem to be working are Geekzone and Gmail!

I'm also on hold trying to get through to VF, but they don't seem to be answering...

It's 10:35 and speed tests still aren't working properly. I've peaked as high as 0.50 Mbps, and dipped as low as 0.07 Mbps. Still can't get a speed test to complete, though.

The connection is just trash tonight.

Finally managed to get through to tech support.

Apparently, there is an outage in the greater Wellington area, affecting multiple ISPs incl DSL. No ETA for resolution and they're in the process of updating the IVR and Network Status page.

We've been on the cable network since approx 2000 and I can't remember ever having this bad an issue! Can't say I'm impressed.

Luckily fiber is due here around Oct, so I'll be switching as soon as possible. Any recommendations re suitable routers? I'm currently using a Linksys EA6500 router and planning on switching to Bigpipe.
