Sideface:  <snip>  Below are my TrueNet Island Bay cable results for the last month:  <snip>

Due to the small number of 100Mb/s HFC truenet participants, I believe the problem may not be quite so regional. It might be much worse than the apparent ~35MB/s low on your graph. As stated before I have worsening congestion issues too, however because I do not typically use latency sensitive applications, and what I do use the connection for at that time of night will happily work with as little as 10Mb/s. Well this week I have started playing a latency sensitive game and the issue is really rustling my jimmies! In fact for the third night in a row I am down to sub 10Mb/s at 7pm. This may have been the case for a while but now I am actually looking. I wonder if there are a lot of people who are like me; -the connection seems fine so they aren't actually testing it to see what is going on.  <snip>

I believe that there are only 11 HFC volunteers in the Wellington area, and now I'm the only one left on the heavily congested WKH node.

The 35Mbps nadir on TrueNet's graph is speed averaged over the last month.

There is extreme variability from night to night, and from week to week.

I also test using OOKLA (Wellington server) and nPerf (Auckland server) every night during peak hours, and I tend to get "worse" results than those indicated by TrueNet.

Over the past 4 weeks, my average 9pm speed (OOKLA) has been 20Mbps, with a range from 3Mbps to 55Mbps.

Latency to Sydney is horrible tonight. I'm sitting at ~88 ms, as is my friend in Waikanae, so it's not just a localised issue. :\

I'm getting 37ms, so it's possibly just Vodafone.

Yeah, that's what I meant. My friend up in Waikanae is on Vodafone cable.

An older speedtest result:

Tonight:

W93 - Kapiti.

(Also, my YouTube connection speed has been lower than normal, but there's been no abnormal buffering)

Remember when you ripped into me for posting my Peak time Vodafone cable speed test from a uncongested Wellington node, when I was trying to give Vodafone a indication of where speeds were being affected hoping it could somehow help Vodafone determine where the problem areas are..... You practically ran me out of the thread. Now your posting speeds from another ISP from a VDSL connection sealed Just saying.

johnr: Upgrade work is still happening every week, Far less customers will be impacted now due to peak time congestion

Are you able to say if it's first come first served, or if there is another mechanism by which it is determined a person gets their week?
Would it be advantageous to further increase the congestion on my node to increase it's priority. Just kidding, would I really be that desperate?

Order is worse impacted Nodes first but not just Nodes are getting upgraded

Thought you Island Bay users would love this quote, all the way back in June last year.

Was Island Bay this badly affected around that timeframe though?

@Scotty1986 Several people from this thread have asked me to keep them up to date with how my new connection is going.

Without digging through the thread to confirm timelines, Island Bay was largely unusable around that time. Weeks went by when streaming during peak was impossible.
