Had a random disconnect tonight. Lost connection to Mumble and Overwatch, and it kicked me out of a game with four of my friends. Definitely feeling the congestion too.

Near full speeds - high 90's on speedtest.net

That's good where abouts are you

Kapiti - W93.

And my speed seems to have gone down a little.

Wainuiomata, 10:30pm: 9Mbps down.  Funny enough, this is the best result I've had all week (typically 5-6Mbps).

Ipv89:

3.1 is backward compatible so we could/should see new offerings and improvement before the upgrade is completed. This does depend on the model they are adopting and what politics are in play.

I know very little about the DOCSIS technology, but when I was on the phone to Vodafone the other day the helpdesk person mentioned something about getting new modems in the near future which I assumed was in relation to the upgrade.  Based on that I would figure we won't see any improvement without the replacement modems, but as I said I don't actually know.

@Ipv89 It's a pretty safe bet at this point that you're not on a congested node. Congratulations and long may it continue.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

It'll be a couple more months at the very least.

Hey everyone – good news, last week our tech teams ran a successful D-CMTS upgrade in the Karori node. There was a short overnight outage of broadband and cable TV services in order for the work to happen.

This upgrade is the start of a wider node upgrade programme that will deliver more capacity to all our nodes in Wellington and Christchurch, and pave the way for residential gigabit speeds on our cable-fibre network.

You know about our investment – these upgrades are about future-proofing our network so you can continue to do your thing better. Further details about the upgrades and Vodafone’s residential gigabit products and plans will be available later this year.

That sounds good but today in Khandallah the speed is almost unusable internationally. Maybe it has something to do with wet weather?

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

could you at least answer this @MikeHales

will the worst affected areas at the moment be the first areas to be upgraded in the next round of upgrades?
