That's optimistic. I'm expecting something more like this:

It's barely 6 pm, and I'm only getting ~3.5 MB/s on Steam. :\ 7.8 GB update for Witcher 3. Was really hoping it wouldn't take so long.

What are these "MBs" you speak of? Surely you mean "KBs"?

I think what people are after is something a little more concrete than "work is in progress" or "soon". We've been hearing that repeatedly since late last year. An upgrade to a node in Karori is pretty meaningless without knowing how that impacts progress toward resolving congestion issues.

Can you not even give a rough estimate of when cable will be fixed in the problem areas? Specifically Island Bay and Wainuiomata.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

I think I'm in a less affected area, but then again fibre is available.

The problem is that the poor guy is being forced to defend the indefensible. And compared to a certain Vodafone staffer who posted on here, at least he's pretty diplomatic. Best of luck to both "sides" really - sucks to be in this situation. The fault lies solely with VF the corporate.

Seeing as this is the Kapiti cable thread, my Kapiti result, 50/2

I'm not asking @MikeHales to defend anything, just either give an answer regarding timelines, or let us know that he can't. "Soon" has proven pretty meaningless in the Vodafone world and node upgrades don't seem to mean much either.

I fully take your point and couldn't agree more, this situation was entirely avoidable and it's almost certainly management's poor decisions that put Vodafone where it is. I wouldn't want to be in Mike's position, but the last thing people here deserve is being led on with the same "two week" / "soon" mantra for yet another six months, whether intentional or not.

Vodafone must have some timelines around this. If they can't share them, it's a pretty safe bet they're not pretty.
