mdf: No internet at all here (island bay). No updates on the vf network status page either. Anyone else having troubles or just me?


Update from Vodafone: Hi, we currently have an outage for some Wellington Cable customers. Working on a fix as we speak. Sorry about this.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water...

We've been having all kinds of issues at our place in Island Bay for the last couple of nights. Yesterday was especially awful.

 

Thankfully, I'm at work right now enjoying the 200+ Mbps Internet. Maybe I'll stay here late tonight. ;)

Island Bay, cable 100/10, node WKH:

 

Outage (internet and TV) 3.30pm to 4.40pm - hopefully a node upgrade  wink

Apologies WKH node is an outage but engineers are onto it. However, there is a planned upgrade for that node very soon.

@MikeHales: Any estimate on how long it may take to resolve the outage? I know those sorts of things are immensely difficult to predict, but I'm trying to figure out whether to catch the bus now and hope it's resolved by the time I get back, or stay at work for a while longer.

And we seem to be back!

@mikehales Looking forward to that node upgrade. Just spitballing here, but how about offering the long suffering Island Bayvarians (adjective choice?) in to the beta testing for DOCSIS 3.1 when it arrives? One, kind of compensation for enduring the congestion, but two, you've already seen pretty good evidence that we're a savvy bunch that will most definitely let you know about glitches, slowdowns and errors.

Any planned upgrades on the nodes that service Ngaio? Latency and speed are appalling most of the time.
