Well I can send/receive calls on both VF and Telecom Networks so far, and BB Services are working.

Ok, if it's working on Telecom then it's certainly 850 MHz 3G... Good one.

Based on that it's only connecting to 2100, which struggles indoors, where 850 works well, you will not have an enjoyable experience on the XT network with this BB as 2100 is very limited in cities on XT and as you have experienced, fairly unusable in buildings. On VF/2D it would drop back to 2G in the above scenario.

I have the very same Problem with a BB 9860 i Brought in Aussie after asking twice that it would work on the WCDMA 850 band and was told it would but once back in NZ it was happy in places like ChCh and Queenstown but once out in the 850 only places (pretty much everywhere) i had no luck. I'm Still fighting with the retailer to get it resolved by either sending it back at their cost or getting them to swap it at their cost but it seems they can't arrange a piss up in a brewery.

If anyone is keen to buy a brand new BB9860 that is 3G 900/1700/2100 and 2G GSM 850/900, DCS 1800, PCS 1900 MHz

PM me and with an offer (i paid AUD$469 so about NZD$600) i might be better off selling it and forgetting the Idoits in Aussie

p.s i still have the receipt for it as well
