Well this story has a happing ending. I called to move my account, waited 30 minutes as I was bounced around from department to department and country to country and finally got to customer retention.

First of all while I had realised TCL were rolling out DOCSIS 3 and 100Mbs plans I was not interested because my issue is not speed but caps. But the retention person, after asking why I was moving offered me a 150GB plan for about what I pay for 90GB and an upgrade to 100Mbs. That sounded pretty reasonable so I have decided to stay.

What I hadn't realised that there are new Warpspeed plans where 150GB is $99.95 which is what I was paying for 90GB. But I have been offered additional value over that which is nice.

I have also been given 150GB to use to the end of my billing cycle but that's not going to be so useful given my cycle ends in 4 days and it's hard to use up 150GB in 4 days. But still nice.

So props to TCL for looking after their existing customers.

As for the 100Mbs services, I don't really care if my existing router supports something less than 100 Mbs since it's going to be way faster than any international link I might use (I think).
