Yes family farm. On account cell phones 2 prepay one account - on account $80 to $110 per mo.

So im going to guess that vodafone will not be keen..

A lot of planning and cost is needed to get a mini repeater installed including upgrading of capacity at the donor cell

At a guess not much change left over from 10 or 15k

Thats a lot more than i was looking at spending total.

I would have been happy at upto 1k for parts.

Please review my posts the customer does not own any of the hardware it always reains property of Vodafone NZ, So the customer does not pay but Vodafone

John, this particular customer is willing to pay for a solution.. I would have thought that vodafone would like to find them a solution... ;)

Going back to the OP's OP, could a special vodem be arranged for this purpose? or, how much data does a femtocell consume on average for 2-3 users?

Only option is Sure Signal and broadband is required,

There really is no other option at the moment unless they want to pay for a cell site to be built not much change from a few hundred thousand dollars

Special vodem account - perhaps one that only allows femtocell data. Don't know, just an idea - most certainly something that doesn't exist at present. Of course, that's no use, if you really have to have broadband for some technical reason. If it's just a policy thing, then surely a vodem would work. *shrug*

Yes, how long is a piece of string.... I know. I was imagining say, 60-100 minutes of calls, and 50-100 txts each, no data.

Seems a real shame that there's no solution for people in such a situation - almost the exact same scenario exists for my father-in-law in Northland. Coverage is fine up on the hill in front of the house, but is marginal at best at the house. you can receive txts if you leave your handset on one particular window sill.

Best option I can think of is the use of a device like a smoothtalker

Ok so... Vodafone cant do any thing?

Could one get a Vodem that is zero rated on sure signal data? I guess not.

I don't want to brake the law, I don't want to buy a cell tower, I don't want to pay any one $10~15K for a repeater.

There are a few Passive Antenna's that are available that I would assume are legal (See Below) however the effectiveness and maximum cable length would be rather questionable, However I imagine John would be able to answer such questions.
