I don't quite understand your question but any new plans/promotions Vodafone bring out, will all be aimed at getting revenues up per user.

They will definitely lose out on the amount they receive from people making phone calls (and most phone calls are less than a min anyways while they charge for the whole min for the 1st min).

However, they are hoping to expand their customer base so that they will get more share in the market, I guess this will attract many people when it comes out. But mind you, need to keep an eye on the base of the on account plan... eg, Get Plans + "Best Mate Add-ons" where $12 is an "add-on" but how much the account cost? It is still a bit expensive if it is attached to motor-mouth? also how much would off peak cost? if it is not $2 for 2 hours and does not have TXT 2000, Supa prepay is still a good package

Yeah because all I would want to do with best mate is Vide Call! and I think if I did it for half an hour every day how much money Vodafone loses out on... but  mailmonster did most of the thinking Surprised

Speaking of Motor-Mouth can it be used with Supa-Prepay since they are both 2 different plans?

Well if you did 30 minutes of video calling each day on BestMate, Vodafone wouldn't loose out on any money, unless you always used to video call every day for 30 minutes at 49c per minute!

If you didn't then why would Vodafone be loosing money? If anything, they have gained $6 from you for BestMate.

For example, I never used to call my friend on his mobile while we played multiplayer games online because it was too expensive, but now with BestMate we can leave our phones on for hours because it's not charged per minute. So yes we are using the Vodafone network much more than we were, but Vodafone arn't "loosing" any money because we wouldn't of used that service if we were paying the 49c per minute rate.

If someone always called a specific number 20 times a day and paid the full rate, then they got BestMate, then yes Vodafone would start to loose money.

Hey i think you are a bit confused, the 12 dollars for three best mates which is currently being discussed is for on acccount customers. Well its a rumour its still not oficial yet but if it does come out it will probably only be for on account customers. But On account customers will definetely have bestmate it might be different to what prepay has but we will have it, it has been mentioned on the vodafone website. I have also gone to the vodafone website and signed up for bestmate even though i am on account i recieved a message which said that bestmate for on account will be out soon. How soon i dont know...

This is a bit simplistic. When you're using flat rate calling, you're tying up capacity on the network which might otherwise be used by other customers paying by the minute.

That is a valid point; however most cell sites are never used up to full capacity.

Talk for 2 hours for $2 is offpeak, and offpeak would never reach full capacity.
