Slightly off topic, but how big is this 'batch'... you say 10-12 people using wifi here?

Problem has been solved for now, with Telecom giving a larger data package and agreeing to leave the legacy tolls package in place.

Bach is actually 2 houses, within wifi range (have improvised a wireless bridge). But with couches etc, we've been known to sleep 20+. Proper old school 1950s baches, with broadband being our one modern concession. Sitting looking out over the sea as I try to finish a PhD thesis. There are worse places to work.

TelstraClear does use the username and password. If "User A", a TelstraClear customer, uses their username and password while connected to User B's line (where User B is also with TelstraClear), then the usage is charged to User A.

If your Uncle does change to Telstra then your modem settings from home would work so thats an option.

Are you 100% sure on that?

A number of ISP's (incl Telecom) use DHCP Option82 for port based authentication. I have no idea if TCL use this, but if they do you aren't going to be able to move a connection between premises.

I'm no longer with TelstraClear but it certainly used to work and I haven't heard of anything changing.
