I am having Youtube issues as well over the past couple of days. Buffering issues and videos sometimes not loading and automatically changing quality to 240p whenever it can. Very very annoying!

With TelstraClear (well I guess Vodafone now) and on their standard plans.

Behodar: I've been having the same issue for the past few days... and I'm with Maxnet.

Interesting, Maxnet most certainly have a dedicated Google cache too, signed for it myself. Will see what I can find out...

Remember, someone I know in the US is experiencing the same issue. Including with Vimeo.com.

garvani: Same issues on TCL/Voda Adsl, so its not just limited to cable customers.

Yes getting it as well on TCL DSL in Dunedin, Youtube Vids seem to buffer for a few seconds then stop all together.

Been happening for past week or so.

And why is it taking SO LONG to get fixed!!!!! So much for Vodafones claims about it's purchase of Telstra Clear...

It's just the same old story.

Bowering: Hi all. Thanks for the info. I’ve passed it on to the tech team to look into.

Cheers, Gary

Bang on their door. Make sure they're awake! SIX DAYS NOW, and hardly ANY You Tube 'streaming videos work!!!!

I am trying to play a video that is 2mins 28 seconds long, it's been sitting there for 10+minutes, and so far it's only buffered about 30%, and hasn't started playing at all! I have taken the You Tube Speed test, and it shows I SHOULD BE getting really good download speeds. But I'M NOT!

Date 24-04-2013 at 12:05am to 12:33am

Trace route to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daA0LDDX6Tc times out at 203.97.26.42 with a 98% packet loss!!!!

Happening here.

Youtube buffers slowly, after a while it has enough buffer to play but runs out very quickly seems like it is not hitting the cache and passing through at a low speed.  Buffering is very slow.

I find if I reload the page, then the second time, it will buffer more quickly and less likely to have an issue.

It seems like the second time I load the page, their cache is loading the video, but has a head start on me.

Maybe they had to purge their youtube cahce or something and it needs to repopulate?.

Hi all. The techs need more info to further diagnose these reports. It'd be great if you could PM the following:

* Results of: http://redirector.c.youtube.com/report_mapping

* Customers IP Address.

* Where any slow video's are being served from:
  • Use firefox + firebug addon.
  • Find slow video.
  • Look at the "net" tab in firebug for the large object/video itself.
  • Traceroute to the hostname used for the object (usually <some random string>.youtube.com).
Thanks, Gary

Still just as bad for me.

It seems changing the url to au.youtube.com alleviates the issue.
