Loftus: My Android (JB4.2) smartphone supports one SIM-based account and several VOIP accounts. My VOIP provider has assigned a (landline) number to the VOIP account - hence, 1 phone with two numbers.

I wonder if you could find a VOIP provider that would port one of the 021 numbers...

I know of none. 2talk have Non-Geographic (028) number ranges, but AFAIK, no SMS Interconnects and probably other requirements to terminate calls from such numbers.

My memory of this stuff is a little faded as it has been a long time.

Basically what I would do is register the incoming MSDN into a pickup group and have the persons mobile as being the first hunting number (probably redirect to voice mail if unanswered). I'd also probably decorate it with a distinctive ring so that the receiver can identify the number that was called. The second incoming number could likely be set up the same way.

These are features of the mobile intelligent network, so it depends on how they have been implemented by the Telco as to what can actually be done. Usually they [the features] are part of a VPN caller group (not the same as a VPN network).

Sorry but depending on what you have available could you not just have an phone on charge at the office or something that has best mate loaded and auto forward the calls straight from the settings?

This way it'll only cost you $6 a month + the cost of a handset.

If it was an Android you could have the SMS forwarding - heaps of apps on the store.

Or as you said the obvious answer a Dual Sim Handset, This is what my friends have set up, and they have two different companies on two different numbers.
