man you guys are LEGENDS!!! this is so cool :) now i can drop my get 70 onto a base 20 :)
heh heh tis about time they listened to my suggestion (this is what you get in singapore - 20 nz bucks eq, 1000 txt/mms, 200 anytime/3g minutes, way to go to get there yet but this is one step forward)

I don't get what you're saying...

The current Base Plans that were mentioned have been around for ages....

I was never aware of these base plans.

I could never actually understand the point of Base plan anyway and apparently there are virtually no customers on the plan despite it being available for nearly a year. Why not keep things simple and offer people the best value for money on a single rate plan such as You Choose? Telco's still love using confusion as a marketing tool.

Nope. Base Plan excludes roaming. Specifically says that on the website. Paradoxsm has mentioned it in his post.

..because roaming is a feature they can't afford to give you on such a reduced-price plan. Because they don't make any money off roaming. HA HA HAHA HA!

The confusing thing is, is that a Base Plan is part of a YouChoose plan. You choose a Base Plan, then add on extras.

Then there are Base Plans that have reduced level of service.

I'm guessing the new Base Plans I heard about are to do with YouChoose, not these other stupid low quality plans.

Its called a core plan on the site, I am sure it was a base plan at one stage. Probably just some of that confusion marketing that they are all so good at...

I was totally unaware of these 'base/core' plans either.

Way to go vodafone, great advertising there. :(

I'm still on a get70 plan, have been for about 2 years. Prior to that I was on a get200, ever since 2000.

So been with vodafone on account for years, but never switched to the 'you choose' plans, as they are crap.

I'm keen to find out about these 'new' plans, 'if' they arrive.
Otherwise telecom is looking more and more inviting...

Although one of those 'core' plans could be ok...

When I enquired about these plans in store I was told that they were only there to improve the OECD ranking!
I'm thinking sales commissions are targeted for You Choose plans so that's what is pushed by the reps.

Yes, the commisions are much higher for "you choose" but choose 20 's comm is almost non-existent.

Do not blame the reps though, the OECD rankings are all the "base plans" are designed for and the whole company has deliberatly kept them very silent from their staff and most probably just don't know.

The base plans Vodafone offer are reasonable, however i don't know what "reduced level of service" means and I dont like how they exclude any other benefits.

prices well if you keep within your bundles but just 60 txts won't suit a lot of people

no handset subsidy available for 24mnth contract and not eligible for any promos might not sit well with a lot of people.

I'm currently on Get70 so initially Base20 looked good BUT the small print is revealing

International roaming is not available on Base plans

And I have to sign for 24 months...

I could almost live with signing for 24 months but no roaming what planet do VF think they are on ?

Well i'm now officially on "base20", I use my Telecom primaraly for calls so this is just to "keep the on-account GSM" as it costs less that a prepaid would.
