Hmm.. also... after 12 months price goes to $95. But hopefully in that 12 months, pricing drops... tempting.

xpd: Still says unavailable for me, but the "others" address checks say yes I can.

Best to run a manual prequalification to get the best results..

Any benefit if moving form another provider, already have VDSL. Don't need modem and would be good not to have a 12 month contract. Thanks

Vodafone don't have a habit of giving price drops to existing customers. They usually launch new plans and leave existing customers on the old plans.

Vodafone today announces VDSL broadband plans – providing three times faster average broadband download speeds – at no extra cost for the first 12 months.

"... at no extra cost for the first 12 months" Then what?
The data caps are still only 80, 150, or 250GB/month - no unlimited option.
Pass.

VDSL is not available to customers who can get cable services. :)

After the first twelve months, the pricing increases by $10.00/month over the cost of our standard ADSL. See T&Cs.

DjShadow: If we are still on a 12 month term for ADSL, what will it cost to upgrade?

Hi DjShadow

If you're currently part way through a 12 month ADSL term we can remove it and waive the early termination charge if you sign up to a new VDSL 12 month term. The VDSL 12 month term will cover the VDSL splitter install and VDSL plan upgrade for the first 12 months, so you'll just need to pay for the Huawei HG659 modem which is $99.05.

Cheers

Dylan

Very pleased to see Vodafone VDSL live! Here's a couple of bits of extra info.

There’s options for VDSL broadband with home phone or VDSL Naked Broadband.

The same sign up offers are available too, so if you're new to Vodafone VDSL broadband and phone on a 12 month term you can choose between Gamers Choice (one year free Xbox Live Gold or Playstation Plus) or one month free pack charges, that's on top of free VDSL splitter install and VDSL modem on a 12 month term.

VDSL broadband with home phone also includes BestMates for home phone (free calls to 5 favourite NZ landlines or mobiles) and the SKY with Vodafone discounts are available with VDSL naked and VDSL with phone too.

Let us know if we can help out, we're over on Vodafone Community too. :)

Cheers

Dylan

Is cable better than VDSL? I always thought VDSL had a lower ping.

Pings on cable are pretty low. :)

They're very different technologies. Cable has a few advantages - as we own & operate the cable network, we have more control over the whole experience. Vodafone TV is available over cable as well, and our cable service goes up to 130Mbps down vs. the 70Mbps max of the currently-available VDSL tech.

VDSL is a great option for those people who, for various reasons (Apartments, location, rollout plans, et cetera), cannot get cable or fibre services, and I'm really glad to see it launch today - If only my apartment wasn't too far from the exchange!

If I am a Telstra customer can I jump over to Vodafone without a contract? I don't like being tied to contracts for a year.
