Interesting. I got a phone call last week about this and afterwards I called Vodafone New Zealand. We talked about the issues, and that's what I posted in my reply.

I certainly did not disclose names or locations, so I have no idea where they got that from. Perhaps Vodafone themselves had the case on hand? It could be because I was told this was a very unusual fault.

I dunno where the name info came from, I am not worried about it, but Tom from Infotech has contacted me and apologised for accusing me of being an Aucklander, a most unfortunate accusation :)

At the time I had the issue the CSR had to call me back several times over a 2-3hr period to attempt to workout what went wrong. It was he who said they were concerned that more may come out of the woodwork over the next few days.

I must also add that the CSR dealt with the issue in a very profesional manner, I was very happy with its handling.

Very interesting forum guys.

I received my OA bill the other day, I had charges for VF Mail, it was very strange because I never even heard of Vodafone Mail let alone used it before.... i didn't bother calling up for a credit because the amount was so little and I couldn't be bothed waiting in a cue for 30 minutes on hold.

On a slightly different note; Vodafone finally managed to cancel my Sky Mobile TV subscription after over three months of trying to get it cancelled.

I have a a VF Mail entry of 0.0098MB which is charged at $0.00 on my statement. I'm guessing this possibly used included data which is why I have no charge for it but I have definately never used VF Mail either. Anybody else got a VF Mail charge on their account?

My bill looks OK except for data charging, Vodafone tell me I used my 3MB data plan and then another 7.8MB on top of that in the period until the 25th May however this seems quite high to me. I know I used a large amount of data but I'm fairly sure it was after the 25th of May so that should be billed next month.

Interesting, well exams finish next week so if it happens again next month, I'll definitely put half an hour aside to complain.

This whole pit stop thing has been a huge inconvenience, it's taking far too long! There must of been a better way to switch over....

well i just had to let it out! been holding too much back for too long

my vodafone login died about 3 months ago. after 4 letters/complaints and 4 "777" calls, i still cannot login! enter username and whatever password whoever sends me from VF - the screen just basically refreshes itself without taking me anywhere! (it's not the browser my prepaid number login works)

arrrrgh ... will email them one more time, then maybe if i dont (can't) pay the bills then something might happen? or not!

grrrrr
Phone has been barred 3 times in 3 days now
VF "lost" a $130 payment for 10 days in their new billing system.
Told last night by a CSR that the new policy is if you don' pay the bill on the due date
the next day it gets barred
thats so bad I might have to change to TC!
Didn't they learn anything from the mercury energy tragedy?

Oh... Is Vodafone trying to implement in New Zealand the bad practices some mobile operators have in the U.S.?

Note that people should pay on the due date... But sometimes *things* happens and a person forgets to pay on the day, or there's something that prevents someone going out to the post office.

And before you start saying "you can pay with a credit card over the phone, direct payment, internet banking", yes, it's all true. But some people don't have internet access, some people don't have credit card and some don't like direct payments because you simply don't know (with enough) advance how much they would dip into your bank account.

Seriously though one day is too little...

You've had a bad experience but trying to compare it to the mercury energy case is wrong.

I don't think the muliaga family would appreciate you using her death to advance your argument.
