So if we blocked this site in question: megaboon.com i couldnt access, (That i can on VDSL, ADSL, and mobile) Someone else on cable so that rules that aspect out. Now its an end user fault here.

Trace routes, Pings, NS Lookup, Can you access the page by going to its IP? (Found by running a ping) Reply from 78.138.105.29: bytes=32 time=297ms TTL=49

Please name 1 site that isnt filtered by us?

No luck resolving site via IP

But so do telecom so I assume one list would serve all providers. If your IP addr is being blocked you could download TOR and see if you can get a connection, I guess you've tried rebooting your router to change IP addr ?

This seems a very simple test to do, given that I've been saying it affects everything on my network, and only those, but no, I had not thought about it until you suggested it. And now I have connection to the website.

Thank you very much for help. I was getting very confused. Is it likely that this will continue to happen, or is it just a chance one(ish) off event?

And thanks to everyone for their suggestions, the amount of assistance has been gratefully received.

either your IP address was blocked by the site, which there would no doubt be some reason for, or your router just needed a reboot. But since you could access other sites I'd suggest it was the former.
I'm relieved however it was not a wifi issue, else I would have had to refer you to paragraph 3 of this article :)

It's likely to either be your LAN/router causing it or the site blocked your account/IP.

As explained above if it was the DIA filter you would see a clear message, not a connection error.

And as JohnR says the thread shouldn't be "Vodafone blocking certain sites" but "Is Vodafone blocking my access to a site?" - the first implies you know for sure Vodafone is doing it, and most likely this is not the case.

1wildwolf: Thanks for all your replies.

@Paul
Have cleared the DNS cache and had no success. Tried the google DNS but also no luck. Incidentally the site you hit on the ping is at least the same one I did.

@shrub
My internet connection settings are still as expected. I am running Malwarebytes at the moment and will let it run when I head to bed, but even if it does find a few items I would be surprised if this fixes the issue given that the website does not load on my laptop or phone via wireless, but does work on my phone via the data connection.

@nakedmolerat
I have never believed the site to be illegal. Maybe that is me being naive regarding a pay site, but I wouldn't be asking questions in here if I thought I was doing something against the law! lol. That said, I guess my thought was that (especially after the responses that other people can reach the site) possibly my personal connection to the website has been blocked by VF.

Works fine here, Google Chrome, Vodafone cable in Wellington.
