sbiddle:solaybro:NikT:solaybro: Does cable still get installed by drilling a hole in the wall, shoving the cable through and then connecting it to a special modem? I wish it was a cleaner install, with everything hidden so you could just plug a your router into a jackpoint in the wall.
A cable jackpoint is normally installed rather than just shoving a length of coax through! Sorry if you had an ugly install in the past, the techs can be quite accommodating (in my experience) if you explain what you'd like where. :)
Can you get a phone line through HFC? If not then that destroys a possible plan.
Yes, but it's not technically delivered over coax, it's delivered over their copper PSTN network.
I would assume that you could get a VOIP number from the provider of your choice, and run that over the cable network?
