Fast. Well done Vodafone. Keep it up.

If only my old grandfathered work plan (which is still in term) would get upgraded to 4G :/

surfisup1000: But, whenever people quote speedtest results you get people from the telcos saying they are not accurate.

In isolated situations, they aren't. But when you have many many thousands of samples to work with, the data becomes a fairly reliable measure.

For diagnosis Speed test is not suitable, for indicative speed surveys it is suitable

Well done Vodafone! Awesome.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

johnr: Our network team has worked so hard on upgrading the network over the last say 2 years bringing U900 DC into the cities and upgrading of the U2100 sites some now have 5 carriers and of course 4G / LTE

Work is still ongoing everyday improving / upgrading, Not standing still

John

I have been extremely impressed with the sheer amount of upgrades Vodafone has done over the past 2 years (and beyond), well done team.

Great result Vodafone,  well done.cool

do we have the full ranking list?  How well does Telecom score?

ETA: oh, I see Telecom is at 25Mbps, vs Vodafone 29Mbps, so not that much different - Not sure where that places them in the global ranking though

ETA2:  and judging by the results from the next 4-5 countries, that would also make Telecom NZ something like ranked 3rd or 4th in the world, which makes me wonder a little about the true validity of the results.  What are the chances that little old NZ has 2 out of the top 5 carriers globally?

It's actually not even funny (in a twisted way) to be seated next to Telecom and 2Degrees customers and running download speed comparisons any more. VF (in Auckland CBD areas especially) IME has them so thoroughly trounced (both in terms of 3G and LTE speeds against Telecom) it's not even a race.

Nice job team red.

Interestingly when you look at the link, it appears the outcome for NZ is based only on speedtests to Auckland as Akl is the only NZ place I saw in the top 100 cities.
Other countries have listings for muliple cities.

It would be nice to see an analysis on both coverage and speed too.
