I received it also. No complaints I guess. But I wish I could find a way to ftp up faster than about 40KBs. Using a ftp server folks overseas can only get about a max of 40Kbs downloads but if they start up several sessions simultaneously, they can achieve in total over 200Kbs. This is a bit strange

I'd just like to say that I am on 10Mbps already and those that say they have been receiving under performance when they do speed tests may be mistaken. Because I have always found that no matter what time of the day I am always getting 10Mbps of Bandwidth. I can test this by downloading from high speed servers, which I do often, such as VUW, and I always get around 1200KB/s Down stream with 8 connections to the server. So your bandwidth quite often always stays the same, but sometimes the single connection to the speed test server is reduced.

As long as the upgrade is a bit smoother than the 2Mbps -> 4Mbps. There are probably still people who should have 4Mbps who are stuck on 2!

I'm on the 20GB plan myself...

Why not the 10GB plan as well?

Maybe because it's the low end plan? I know the 5GB is below that but that's only available as part of a phone+internet package so they're obviously keeping the 1G and 10G as their low end 4Mbps plans.

Sill waiting for my upgrade. Been rebooting the modem and checking the speed tests. Still getting just on 4 mb.

End of the month is almost here! The upgrade will happen before by the 1st of August according to my email, I hope to see something real soon now. I think Telstraclear should keep a register of Geekzone customers so we can be first in line for this kind of thing. How many times have you recommended Telstraclear to a friend in your capacity as "the computer guy"? Keep us happy TC!

Why are people in such a hurry? It's only a 150% upgrade, it might save me a couple of minutes here or there but it's nothing to write home about. 4mbps is fast enough that you can do most anything on the net these days quickly. It's only huge files or huge movies that you'd get much of a speedup, and even then probably only with BitTorrent or similar technologies. Bit Torrent does saturate 4Mbps so 10Mbps will be nice, but anything I download that's large I just queue up and leave it alone anyway.

I'd be more impressed with larger download limits than faster access. I can't be bothered doing the maths at the moment, but at 4Mbps it wouldn't take long to hit my 20GB limit.

agree... wish they double the cap instead! faster speed but low cap is not a great combo

Something happened today in Wadestown. Internet was down for quite some time. Back up this evening running at 2Mb. Most unusual as it only runs at 700K at this time of the day even though I'm on the 5Gb/2Mb plan.
Maybe the promise of the upgrade for the 5Gb plan to 4Mbps before 1 August will happen overnight.

I haven't seen the upgrade kick in yet here in Ngaio. Still getting consistently around 3.8/3.9 Mbps. And yes, I have been powering the modem on/off too.

The internet was down in Upper Hutt today for about 8 hours, phone didn't work either - you forget that it runs over the internet until it no longer works...
