What you mean it's not Vodafone's cache? Imagine that.

Exactly. Imagine that. Would be a first :)

yeah, but does look like a dns issue - use vodafone dns server - not load - use google - works.

As Dylan mentioned, we've got the clever folks in technology looking into this. But yeah, I don't think the people in Latvia, Portugal and Brazil who are also having issues with the site are using Vodafone NZ's DNS or cache. wink

EDIT: m.wikipedia.org seems to work just fine, so if it is super-urgent please use that!

yeah, agree, there is most likely nothing vodafone can do other then poking wikipedia to tell them to sort out their DNS issue, and other ISP will start getting the same problem when their TTL for www.wikipedia.org drop, but still a DNS issue ;)

For me, it's inaccessible on Vodafone using default DNS.  Accessible using Unotelly DNS, OpenDNS or Google DNS

So, obviously nothing to do with VF DNS

Or perhaps this email on NZNOG might explain it:

Has anyone else been seeing their Vodafone Blue (Telstra Clear) BGP sessions expiring hold timers / flapping this evening?

We were experiencing the sessions timing out and dropping then coming back from about 6:50pm NZ till about 9:15pm NZ and looking at BGPlay I can’t see any withdrawals from when the sessions dropped so outbound traffic seemed to re route however inbound was at least partially black holed.

I tried to ring the faults team and got no answer, I have sent in a fault via email nearly an hour ago and no response yet so was looking to try and isolate who / where people experienced this and try nut out what is happening.

The times don't match with the topic start time but could be close...

The people in Latvia, Portugal and Brazil are indeed fortunate NOT having to use such a crap service as Vodafones DNS.

Sorry, not sure what you mean? Our DNS is working as intended. What seems to be the problem for you?
