Andib:
drajk: I received my letter yesterday.

drajk: The short period of notice and the fact that this change was only announced by an email which could have easily been missed are not enamouring me to continue with Vodafone.

Ah you just said you also recieved a letter about it? So they emailed you and send you a letter, What else did you want...  A national TV campaign advertising that the price of a 4 year + old plan with very few customers left on it is changing?

Sending a letter / emailing is the best way of comunicating about plan changes IMO.

Well I only got an email, and what I am more concerned about is the short change period ( received the email yesterday and they plan to automatically move me to a $69 plan on nov 4) , and the underhanded way of automatically moving you to a much more expensive plan rather than listing the options, or moving you to a plan that costs most like the one we were on ( there is a $39 open plan)

Have curently been on hold to VF for 25 minutes 👹

You must have got a different email to me. Mine says that the monthly cost is going up to $49 but they recommend I change to one of the Red plans that costs $69 usually but they will give me a $10 discount on that.

The letter is poorly worded too. It is ambiguous as to whether solely the 2gb extra data is for 12 months or both the extra data and the $10 discount. Depending on which way you read it you may drop down to 1.5 gigs of data and also go to the $69 a month cost after the first 12 months.

Either way, I am going to stick with the $49 a month price and will keep an eye on other options. This would be a great chance for spark to come along and get a few extra customers!

no - you're right.  I misread.  Nevertheless I have now asked them to put me on the $39 plan (this was after their call centre ended up putting me through to a very confused business mobile desk???)

The letter was by email - nothing by post - it was accessed by clicking on a link in an email which opened a .pdf of a document written as a letter.

I never said that I also received a letter.

Just like you can receive a statement by email you can receive a letter by email. Just because it comes electronically doesn't mean it isn't a statement or a letter.  However I believe proposed changes to a long term arrangement are best notified by Postal mail.

With the email volumes many of us receive a single email is much easier to overlook than a posted letter.

Perhaps you should read more carefully and think more deeply before you jump to conclusions - I clearly said "and the fact that this change was only announced by an email" - why would I have said this if I had received a letter in the mail.

Got the letter too. If I change plans, it certainly won't be Vodafone getting my money. Staying put for now and hoping 2 Degrees come up with something.
