Maybe it's just because it is Friday and this has been a very long week, but this sentence confuses me. How is who you pay for your service relevant to the recipient's ability/inability to receive it on another network?

His point is the recipient is on the Vodafone network because that's company being paid for that number.

I would like to see a conclusive report that the recipient is or is not on Vodafone.

I am told this recipient number (without being told the number) is on another network, ported some time ago.

We are told the SMS is passed to this other network instantly.

From this point it is up to the other network to deliver.

I can't understand why the OP is insisting this is a Vodafone problem. I have not seen evidence this recipient is on Vodafone yet - only the other way around.

This really has seems gotten a bit out of control as I am not "insisting" that it is a Vodafone problem just replying to johnr comments. The fact that we pay Vodafone for our celphone service I assumed that it was on the Vodafone network.

If johnr who I assume is a Vodafone employee and has access to info that I don't re the network I guess he must be right.


If he can enlighten me to the how these things are setup and work that would be great.

I already have and she told me Vodafone. I you want to contact her and tell she is wrong fell free to because I ain't.

but he says it's HIS WIFES mobile, so as the bill payer, surely he knows who he pays the bills to? perhaps the number was ported out and back, but I'd vote WITH the bill payer here, sorry JohnR, but databases can be known to be out of date/incorrect too?

maybe this is even why it failed?

The number not being on the HLR is a firm indicator it's not a Vodafone account...

OK if you are happy for me to call her doing this now, I am going to ask her to remove the SIM card and check what company logo is on it
