eph: Guys, the story continues - just received invoice from Vodafone for period 1/7 - 31/7. Why am I not surprised... Actually I remember the first invoice they've sent me was grossly overcharged as well it was over 300$ or something. Took me quite a bit of time to sort that out as well.

As per the terms and conditions up to 30 days notice is required to close an account,

What date did you request to close the account / change ISP?

Yes, I know. When I asked to close the account the person told me it can be by the end of the month. I even made a remark about the it - thought I'd have to wait for 30 days to do it. But no I was told it'll be closed by the end of the month. No other date was mentioned.

Have reversed charge for July and closed account. Account balance is now zero.

Thank you very much, Dylan. I'm glad that there are people in Vodafone who care. It's a shame that the everyday support is SOO bad otherwise Vodafone would be a good provider!

All good. I'm absolutely certain the people who closed the account and then tried to cancel the relinquishment were acting with the best intentions. I've emailed through feedback about the second one to a team leader, they had the right idea but unfortunately misunderstood a step. I've made that mistake before myself and I'm sure they'll learn from it as I did. :)

Thank you for your understanding. Hopefully you'll give us another chance in the future.
