Scotty1986: When I was on fibre I had adjusted my Asus modern to allow my roku to work here in NZ with USA netflix. I done this by routing the Google dns 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, can someone PLEASE tell me how I can do this with the cable modem? Or any other work around?

Get a DD-WRT router and use the vodafone modem as just a modem.
Had a similar problem with my fritzbox, very hard to configure/customize anything! In the end I just set it up as the WAN port, disabled all other bells and whistles and left the DD-WRT router do what its good at.

DD-WRT is extremely powerful and its really easy to run iptable commands etc...

The thing is... you can't do this yet with this modem - no bridge only option.

As Mauricio said - the cable modems in all their glory were either direct to 1 computer or in bridge mode to a customer supplied router (sometimes freebies were given away with a new sale by TCL).

The new device replaces this style with a combination modem and router. Good positive step forward and absolutely required for the base that need Voda to do everything.

But the new modem doesn't yet support BRIDGE mode, so if you've taken care of yourself with cable, as many users have... no direct support.

Voda have said Bridge mode is coming - great - but the community is still waiting.

So it's not sounding to hopeful for me then. Might be better off getting new streaming device's that don't have locked DNS. Any recommendations? Must have WiFi. I know chromecast won't work either. I did hear something about telnet and routing IP's through that. But is pretty advanced for me, tried lastnight and could not access the modem, said a port was blocking the connection.

Just chuck another router behind the vodafone one doing Nat to another ip range and do the blocking on that.

Double Nat won't bother streaming.

If I understand you correctly, you want to change the TC7210 DNS settings to your own preferred settings. Once logged into the TC7210: Network--> WAN --> Primary/Secondary DNS

No not quite, I have done that already though with the unblockus DNS settings. But Roku hard lock their devices with google DNS settings which cannot be changed. Instead I static route the google DNS on my old modem so it forced the Roku to use the DNS number that my modem is using, not the hard coded google DNS. I'm sure someone else could explain that better than me though.

I understand that when the roku asks the modem to check in with google dns and report back about regional legitimacy, the modem has been told to lie and say it can't get to google dns, and roku assumes in that case everything must be sweet. Might be wrong entirely, I haven't used that device etc myself.

They use the google dns instead of the DHCP assigned one to make it harder to use a third party one to redirect to the unblocking service. If the google one is unreachable they fall back to the DHCP supplied one.

So, in saying that, does anybody know any work around? I want to get back to watching Friends in bed using the roku streaming stick, and Dare devil in the lounge on my roku 3.

Is your old Asus actually a modem or a router? If it is a router you can configure double NAT, and port map everything inbound on the Technicolor to the Asus

(10.0.1.0/24 LAN)-(10.0.1.1 Asus 192.168.1.1)-(192.168.1.2 Technicolor 203.x.x.x)-(internet)

Then just treat the Asus as your perimeter firewall. Sorry about crap diagram, I'm on a tablet.
