Yeah, was seeing reports from Spark users as well, suspect an upstream provider fudged up :) Google/Yahoo related resources were a no go........

But seems to be back now, although Yahoo still showing intermittent hiccups... :)

Much improved, but still seeing high levels of packet loss (~25% now compared to about 95 - 100% earlier)

Even some of Vodafone's site pages wouldn't load for me earlier - was trying to find DNS settings (to check) as well as trying to open their network status page (in vein) as there are still no details of this issue.

freitasm: Goes to homepage?

Looks like they've taken the story down for some reason as it was definitely there when xpd first posted. Can't seem to find an alternate version on their site either...

I was able to view it (when clicking the link it went to www.nzherald.co.nz), but I copied and pasted the URL and the story showed. Then clicking on the link above again strangely went to the story (and not their homepage). But it appears the link I copied leads to the homepage now.

Since the 10:30 - 11:00 am outage, I have had the best local and international speeds that I've had for months - eg 100 Mbps downloads from a proxy server in Denmark.

I'm waiting to see if the magic is still working during peak hours tonight (I'm on Krapi Kable) undecided

Are those status messages publicly available somewhere or are they only available to customers of the Southern Cross cable?
