Have you spoken to St John's about this yet? The reality is that not all devices like this will work in a VoIP environment. As Telecom roll out their NGN companies are going to have to factor this in and look at alternatives - dialup internet will probably be a thing of the past once customers start being migrated to the NGN and companies with devices such as medical alarms and monitored house alarms are going to have to start delivering IP based units using either cellular or internet as the backhaul.

Steve thanks, my point here is how reliable VFX is.... if there are IP devices available to support St Jones life link etc, we are not far away from having these devices available here in NZ. I have seen IP supported home security alarms devices in Singapore 3 months ago. What could happen if I have a life link ip enabled device and I have an emergency.....

Okay let me go back to my morning now.....

I work in the same industry and I know how hard its to deal with customer's (Specially the general public) request, I'm very patient every time I call WXC ( even though I have to wait 45 minutes - to an Hr) the support guy is not the culprit.... its the people upstairs.

I've disconnected my working TCNZ 17th January 2008 due to number porting etc, later found out (Unofficially not through WXC) I could have done this differently, all my lines came back through WXC Last Thursday (31st Jan 2008), had few issues with the fax all fixed and after an hour all going well my line goes off line due to a confg issue?

If there is demand, there should be supply, there are technical writers available, if you have a Vision... where you are heading....you will have all info available to WXC customers. You need to invest on skills and resources to get a return.

Ping pong.. I feel right now.... pay few bucks extra and ....I always can go back to TCNZ.

For IP based Alarm systems it is actually the monitoring company that has to be able to support this, this is what we are working on and pushing for, most monitoring systems seem to be on older technology very low speed modem connectiuons, these do not work well over high speed IP VOIP services and there are many of them, (Basically gateways will not train down to some of the lower speed levels these systems work on), also when you say demand we have several thousand customers and this is the first time Life Link has been mentioned.

We are working with an IP Alarm based Company that will support IP based systems and more info for this will be available shortly, this will be in conjuction with the FTTH (Fibre to the Home) project we are working on.

Since I'm the people upstairs the blame for your poor experience rests with me, looking at why your SPA2102 is having issues, 2 weeks ago we changed our portal , this actually was only part of the changes , we are now using a new faster provisoning system that goes hand in hand with this, for some reason your particular config is somehow being corrupted as a 2 line device, why I don't know yet but am looking at it this morning,
